Who Am I

 A Long, Long Time Ago, There Was A Boy Who Was Cursed To Be Unable To Ever Fall Asleep. The Cursed Showed Itself on the Boy as a Pair Of Golden Eyes. Although His Mother Always Told Him they were beautiful, others often feared him and ostracized him. This caused the boy to become afraid of going outside and locked himself in his house, where he felt he could be safe. Although the boy should've felt lonely spending his days all by himself, he found comfort in the quiet of the night. When everyone else was asleep, He would speak To The Moon; the Moon, of course, never Spoke Back, But He Felt as If Someone Was Always Listening. One night, while the boy was home alone, his house was set aflame. Knowing he had to escape, he ran for the door. Yet, when he looked outside, he could see the villagers just standing and staring, none moving to help. They all had an uncaring look as if a problem was about to be solved. This caused fear to take over his body, and he gave into a fate he didn't want.
As the smoke rose and he found himself fading, he could feel an overwhelming sense of regret, and then he fell asleep for the first time ever. Over the years, though I wasn't allowed to interact directly, I watched over the boy, growing fond of him. When he passed, I felt saddened that he had not gotten to live a full life, so before his soul passed on, I took it and gave him a new form and name: Arctic. I wished for him to be my heir. After many years, when Arctic had become accustomed to his recent form, I decided to send him back into the mortal realm to experience life and forge relationships. Now with a mortal body, He has set out to experience all the things he missed out on. I ask all of you to please follow along with the Arctic and look after this foolish child of mine!
